Welcome to my Crafty Corner

Hello and welcome to my crafty corner, a quiet place to do what i love to do.... make things!

Hi, my name is Mary and i just love crafting. Anything connected with paper and card i just cannot get enough of. I also knit and crochet, mainly in the evenings whilst watching the TV and having cuddles with my Jack Russell, called Rupert.

He is just adorable, we adopted Rupert from a local dog's home almost 2 years ago and it has been non-stop action with him since.

Right, now i will tell you about me! I have always loved to craft and can remember knitting as a youngster with my mum and making my own scarf, it was a bit wonky but i was so pleased with the end result. Fast forward 20 years and I found myself crafting again when my kids were toddlers, I took up cross stitch and knitting again, and even bought myself my very own sewing machine, a Toyota model which i still have. Over the years I still did my knitting in the evening and over the years have knitted bed throws and jumpers and even socks. Yes socks, they are a lot easier than they seem! I also taught myself to crochet via watching Youtube tutorials and love this too.

A few years back I had back issues which resulted in my having 5 months off work. The kids were both working now, so i had plenty of spare time and picked up a card making magazine from my local supermarket. I think it was Simply cards and Papercraft, brought it home and i just could not get enough and went on to buy more magazines over the course of the next few weeks. Also my stash started to expand, starting with cardstock and card kits to buying my first die-cutting machine. It was the Sizzix Big Shot and its still used today.

Over the years I have made around 100 cards, mostly for friends and family and mostly christmas cards but will be expanding to making gift boxes too.

Thanks for reading my first blog, i will tell you more about me next time, plus look out for stock that will be added to my shop over the coming weeks.

Take care for now,

Mary & Rupert.
